Retaining the original vision as imagined by architect Phillip Hepworth, the new fountain is formed around a central plinth with a feature central jet, but also has an additional 144 individual jets which can be programmed to dance to music. Multi-coloured lights illuminating the water jets add to the visual impact and bring the space to life.
The fountain has been designed to create a reflection pool where kids can enjoy splashing about through the summer months. A recirculating water system will reduce water consumption. The fountain will be on several times throughout the day, but this will depend on the season and day of the week.
Current fountain schedule
The Fellowship Square fountain full summer schedule will be on from 9am until 7pm each day during the summer. The times for the fountain and water jets are set to multiple programmes involving different music, light and visual effects. We may also change the times of these performances to manage numbers to ensure the safety of all.
The notice boards located on site will be used to let everyone know when the next water display will take place and please follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the most up to date news.
It's great to see so many people enjoying Fellowship Square and we look forward to seeing you all throughout our summer cultural programme.
