Chingfest returns to Ridgeway Park on 31 August from 1-9pm, and it’s bound to be one to remember!
The main stage will play host to superstar NAO as the headliner, however talent continues throughout the site with a huge amount of music, workshops and talks on offer.
We’re taking some time in the coming weeks to look at each stage, and highlight all the artists and performers taking part in this unmissable music festival.

Krxze is an East London Rapper, singer and producer is known for his complex flows, metaphors and punchlines, but more importantly, his stage presence especially after his recent performances of recent singles 'Wxve Right Now' and 'Redrum'. LUVLY is a singer/songwriter/ producer living in East London. Born in Nigeria, his music reflects his African childhood but London up-bringing. LUVLY's ability to create emotion with his voice and lyrics, leaves you with a lasting feeling long after the song is finished. Drawing influences from a wide array of Artist like Ray Charles Anderson, Paak, Fela Kuti, John Legend, Flying Lotus, André 3000, James Blake & more. You can hear LUVLY’s work on Spotify.
East London Poet, host and writer, Amelia Poamz will be hosting the EastSide Tent on 31 August. She writes to inspire others by openly talking about her own experiences, normalising conversations that need to be had. Turning negative situations into something positive. Currently working on an EP Perspectives that will be coming out later this year. Amelia Poamz aims to remind people of the power of their perspective. Follow her on social media @ameliapoamz
Kitch is a 20 year old rapper from Walthamstow, East London. Part of Kitch's story is that he has a stammer, which disappears when he starts rapping. Having already appeared on National radio and TV, he continues to grow as an artist and share his journey wherever he goes. Check out his latest music video, Miracles, here.
Hayreezy is an alternative rapper from East London who names his style Woke&Wavey. Starting music in January 2018, Hayreezy has had success with shows and bookings in Shoreditch, Hackney and Camden as well as singles released on GRM daily and Italian hip hop channel HIP-HOP TENDER. He draws inspiration from Kendrick, Skepta, J Cole, Wretch 32 and Kanye. Check out his Spotify to have a sneak peek of his Chingfest set.
Now for something completely different. Jerome Harvey presents What Would Love Do?. A talk focusing on love as its universal energy to get through to young people and help people understand the power of connection, remove judgements and helping to create spaces of wisdom where people can be their Authentic selves. Lead by Jerome Harvey, originally from Waltham Forest, he and the team are now on a mission to open up an empowerment centre to help bring together all the skills, knowledge and people on his journey and then help to build an environment that creatively empowers people to go for their dreams and helps to grow amazing communities that nourish future generations to come. Break Tha Cycle
Join Break Tha Cycle (AJ King & Russeni), a youth-led charity established in 2015 in response to the high increase of gang activity and young people related issues, for a talk and workshop in the EastSide Tent. The project supports disadvantaged children, young people and their families in Waltham Forest and surrounding areas. Break Tha Cycle’s purpose is to assist children, young people and their families to re-connect with mainstream society and realise their full potential by offering mechanisms for positive change, challenging stereotypes and reinforcing good role models. Miss Dionne is a singer/songwriter from East London. Her ambitions behind music revolve around ensuring that listeners not only hear but to understand the meaning behind a song. A big believer in music being a key influencer for the next generation, Miss Dionne’s set will be sure to captivate!
Rory Sky is a singer/songwriter and music producer from East London, who has created a style that blends influences of Afrobeats, R&B,Trap, Grime and Electronic music. She has performed on numerous platforms in the UK and abroad including supporting Yxng Bane, Walthamstow Garden Party, Vibeldn plus many more. Rory is a versatile entertainer with a unique soft aggressive voice - from her intimate acoustic gigs to her wild energetic stage performance filled with stories through lyrics and dance with her Female DJ you are assured a good entertaining time. Come and watch a special performance of EastSide Story – an original piece of theatre presented by Raw Academy and Catalyst in Communities, commissioned by Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2019. In an era when daily headlines are full of stories about young people and the challenges they face, this project explores what can be done to create a better positive future, re-writing our EastSide story together. The Human Library is made of people not books. At this one of a kind experience, you’ll be able to select your “book” from the book list and get lost in conversation and stories about the borough’s past, present and future. The “book” list will be made up of local residents with a story to tell. They will showcase the breadth and depth of Waltham Forest.
