Artist Emma Barnard and a team of advisors will design a programme of creative activities for young people with a lived experience of knife crime. The workshop participants will have the opportunity to create photographic interpretations of life from their own perspective and will be supported through the programme to discover and develop their creative skills in a safe space.
Through specially designed workshops over one year and the creation of a body of artistic works, Through the Looking Glass gives the public a chance to view the impact of knife crime directly through these young peoples eyes. The finished photographic artworks will be exhibited in pop-up exhibitions across the borough.
The project is endorsed and supported by experienced collaborators and advisors including Consultant Trauma Surgeon Mr Martin Griffiths who is National Clinical Director for Violence Reduction with NHS England
